People arrive at a dawah hub at different stages, and some of them are not ready to tell anyone. What you read, ask or give here stays between you and the people answering.

Reading, and being new
This site has pages for people exploring Islam and for people who have recently reverted. Reading them requires no account and leaves no record of who you are. We do not log which articles a person read, because there is no analytics platform here to do it.
If you write to us, that conversation is not shared with your family, your employer, your community, or anyone else. We do not publish questions with names attached, and we do not add you to anything because you asked something.
What we collect
- Contact and enquiry forms: your name if you give one, an email address so we can reply, and what you wrote. A first name or a nickname is fine.
- The zakat form: what you tell us in order to work out or record a contribution, including the figures you enter.
- Course accounts: if you enrol on a course, your registration details, which course, and your progress through it.
- Ordinary web server records as pages load: IP address, browser, page and time.
Zakat in particular
Zakat figures describe someone’s wealth, which is private in a way that a mailing list address is not. What you enter is used to answer your question or record your contribution, and for nothing else.
It is not published, not shared with other organisations, and never used to solicit you for more. If you would rather ask about zakat without giving figures at all, ask in general terms and we will answer in general terms.
Who else can see anything
- Namecheap
- Hosts the site and carries its mail. Can see everything stored here.
- Fluent Forms
- Runs the contact and zakat forms. What you type stays on our own server, not a vendor cloud.
- LearnPress
- Runs the courses and enrolment, on this server.
- Ultimate Member
- Runs accounts and the sign in.
- Ameen Systems
- Built and maintains the site over a cryptographically signed connection.
No analytics provider, no advertising network, no data broker, no third-party newsletter platform. Nothing here is sold. Beyond that list, information leaves only where the law requires it, or where someone’s safety genuinely demands it.
Some pages link out to other organisations. Following a link takes you to their site, under their policy rather than this one.
Artificial intelligence
- Your question is not sent to an AI service. A person reads it and a person answers it.
- Zakat figures, enquiries and course work are never used as AI training material.
- The site makes no AI calls. Nothing you type here is passed to a model.
- The site was built with AI assisted tooling, and some of the writing on it, including parts of this page, was drafted with AI help and reviewed by a person.
How long things are kept
- Questions and replies
- 24 months, then deleted
- Zakat records
- As long as accounting and charitable record keeping require, then removed
- Course accounts and progress
- Until the account is closed
- Server logs
- 30 days, then discarded
- Backups
- Rotated on a 30 day cycle, so a deletion takes one cycle to become final
Ask us to delete something sooner and we will, without asking why.
What you can ask for, and changes
Write to privacy@ferrand.africa to see what we hold, correct it, or have it deleted. No formal wording and no reason needed. We reply within thirty days and there is no charge.
This site is written for adults and is not directed to children. When our practice changes, this page changes and the date at the top changes with it.
